Updated NBC Church Guidelines (Reopening Safely…)
CDC guidelines will apply and be followed when applying the rules of this document. Nazarene Baptist Church of Nicetown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania K. Marshall Williams Sr. Senior Pastor Reopening Plan October 2021 (Psalm 121; 1 Corinthians 14:40)
1. Pastor a. Will communicate with all Ministries explaining what is expected. i. All Ministries will receive a printout of their duties as we reopen the church during the Covid-19 outbreak ii. No announcements during service iii. No bulletins given out or additional services after morning worship iv. There will be no walking around for offering or meet and greet during the morning worship. v .Lower level of the church will remain closed. vi. Pastor must wear mask and if necessary will speak behind a shield during service viii. Pastor will exit to sanctuary’s right after preaching. He will record his Moment of Meditation when the sanctuary is vacant. ix. Pastor will do No meet and greet after service…no shaking hands. No visitations until the virus has been eradicated! x. Mask must be worn over your nose and mouth for the duration of the church service by all…both adults and children. xi. Pastoral counseling will be conducted by phone or zoom xii. Prayer meeting will still be held online via zoom and call in. xiii. Right hand of Fellowship will be given by all Members raising their Right hand. 2. Deacon’s Ministry i. Deacons will pray behind glass on Sunday’s and use personal speakers cover over the microphone ii. Deacons will sit 6ft apart or with their families during service iii. 1st Sunday cups should be disposed of by the user immediately after service in designated area set-up by the Deacon’s iv. Deacons will continue to follow up on their Sheepfold Ministry and call sick members…No visit at this time until the virus has been eradicated. v. Mask must be worn over your nose and mouth for the duration of the church service by all…both adults and children. vi. If a new member joins the secretary will get their phone number after church and call them to get more information and begin the Christian Discipleship process. 3. Trustees Ministry i. Maintain air ducts and HVAC filters ii. Acquired thermometers for temperature check iii. Deep cleaning of the church has been done by a cleaning company. It will be followed up weekly by the cleaning company! Our maintenance staff will wipe down all pew’s door handles etc. iv. No van service. When the van transportation resumes, the van will need to be cleaned and disinfected after each use. Masks must be worn by all drivers and passengers. v. Offering baskets will be placed at all 7 entrances to the Sanctuary and trustees will monitor them. vi. Offering will also continue to be collect via Tithely on the website at www.Nazarenebc.org vii. Basement of church is off limits viii. Mask must be worn over your nose and mouth for the duration of the church service by all…both adults and children. ix. See that the Member and Guest portion of this document is posted in several areas around the main sanctuary, so people are aware of the rules and regulations of the Nazarene Baptist Church Covid-19 protocol. 4. Security Ministry i. All persons entering the church shall wear a mask, covering the nose and mouth. ii. Mask must be worn over your nose and mouth for the duration of the church service by all…both adults and children. iii. Seating: Individuals entering the church will be reminded to observe the recommended 6 feet safety distance in the main sanctuary unless you are seated with other members in your family. iv. Administer Temperature check will be required before entering the church. If have a HIGH temperature they will be Not be allowed in the Sanctuary!!!! v. Security is responsible to insure all persons are wearing a mask. If an usher informs security that any persons is not wearing a mask, or their mask is not properly in place…security will address the issue vi. Only in extreme situations, call 39th Police District at 215-686-3390 for assistance!! vii. If a person refuses to wear a mask, he or she will not be allowed in the service…no exceptions!!’ viii. No congregating in the halls. Worshippers must come in and be seated in the main sanctuary right away! ix. Open all outer doors immediately after service so members can exit!! x. See that people leave immediately after service…using all exits!! xi. Basement of church is off limits xii. See that the Member and Guest portion of this document is posted in several areas around the main sanctuary, so people are aware of the rules and regulations of the Nazarene Baptist Church Covid-19 protocol. xiii. Enforcement of the rules must be followed by all worshippers. No exceptions !!! 5. Ushers Ministry i. Seat families together ii. Keep people 6ft apart iii. Mask must be worn over your nose and mouth for the duration of the church service by all…both adults and children. iv. If it’s a 1st Sunday…disposal gloves should be worn so they can hand out communion packs as people enter the church v. Inform church members to keep their mask over their mouth and nose. If you have approached a person or persons, more than once seek security for assistance. vi. Refer any person to see the Rules and Regulations for Covid-19 protocols in various areas of the main Sanctuary, if a member or guest has questions. vii. If members or guest don’t comply seek security for assistance…do not engage with unruly guest or members! Call security!! viii. Keep all doors to the main sanctuary open for circulation of air. ix. See that people leave immediately after service…using all exits! x. Offering baskets will be placed in various locations and trustees will monitor and gather them after service. xi. Ushers will not walk around and collect offerings. xii. Basement of church is off limits 6. Music Ministry Members i. Singers (3-6) will be seated socially distanced prior to the start of church ii. Singers Mask will be required for all Musicians and Singers!! They will have personal speakers covers for their microphones when singing ! iii. Singers with solos will stand behind the glass or distanced in the Choir stand. iv. Singers will wait until the main sanctuary is emptied before leaving the choir to avoid crowding v. Basement of church is off limits vi. Mask must be worn over your nose and mouth for the duration of the church service by all…both adults and children. 7. Sunday School/ Bible Classes i. Sunday school and all Bible Classes will be on-line at this time. See website www.Nazarenebc.org or Church Bulletin for links 8. Worship -10:30am in person and Nazarene Facebook and You Tube livestream!!! www.Nazarenebc.org Order of Worship Call to Worship Prayer (On 1st Sundays After pandemic is over Baptism) Hymn Scripture Ministry of Music Sermon Invitation to Christian Discipleship 1st Sundays (Right Hand of Fellowship, Church Covenant and the Lord’s Supper!) Benediction 9. All Members a. Church will open at 10:00am!! i. Members must sit with family and 6 ft from others. ii. Requirement of a Mask-Member’s mask should be pulled up over their nose and mouth during the entire service. iii. Mask must be worn over your nose and mouth for the duration of the church service by all…both adults and children. iv. Upon entrance - Members will have TEMPERATURE checked and SIGN in NAME and Phone number (for contact tracing) Members must come in and be seated immediately in the church…NO hanging in the halls. v. Members must leave the church IMMEDIATELY after service. vi. Members will not walk around and give offerings. No food or Coffee, soft drinks in Sanctuary!!! vii. Members will drop tithes and offerings at specified location set up by the Trustees or give on-line viii. Sanitizing stations are at all entrances. ix. Basement of church is off limits 9. All Visitors a. Will be given a mask if they don’t have one i. Must sit 6ft from others. ii. Must must have a mask, have temperature checked at upon entrance and sign in (Name and Phone) iii. Must keep mask on at all time iv. Mask must be worn over your nose and mouth for the duration of the church service by all…both adults and children. v. If a guest joins the church, he or she will sit on front pew and be welcomed by the Pastor. vi. Guests who have joined, should wait on the front pew until the main sanctuary has been cleared. The new convert will be greeted by the secretary of the Deacon’s Ministry and he will get their phone number to follow up with a call to them. vii. Guests will not walk around and give any offerings. They will drop offerings at the door upon entrance or exit of the service. viii. Guest must leave immediately after service with all worshippers. xi. Basement of church is off limits ****Funerals will be conducted with same protocols above. ****No Baptisms, Weddings, Food Serving or Baby Dedications at this time.
